Possible hazards to collections items are indicated by the severity of corrosion on the metal coupons. A blank/control of water and coupons without other materials is also tested. The test is performed by placing the material being tested in a sealed glass vial with metal coupons (silver, copper and lead) and water at 60☌ for 28 days.
